PDE - Fall 2005 |
|
These videos are of a PDE that used solenoid valve fuel injection and a modified automotive ignition system with hand built tungsten electrode spark plugs. The tube inner diameter is only 25 mm. The PDE is running on propane and oxygen mixtures. |

PDE - Summer 2005 |
|
These videos are from a PDE that used a motorized rotary valve fuel injection and a modified automotive ignition system and hand built tungsten electrode spark plugs. The tube i.d. is only 25 mm. The PDE is running on propane and oxygen mixtures. Most of the runs were conducted at 10 Hz. |

PDE - 2004 |
|
This video is from a PDE that used a motorized rotary valve system and
a high voltage high energy arc ignition system with hand built tungsten
electrode spark plugs. The PDE is running on propane and oxygen
mixtures at about 15 Hz. The tube inner diameter is 0.75 inches. |

Arc-Heater - 2004 and Earlier |
|
The 1.6 MW Arc-Heated Wind Tunnel is used to produce supersonic streams of extremely hot gas. Two videos of these supersonic streams are shown below. |

PDE - 2001 and Earlier |
|
The early experimental PDE studies at the ARC used a 3 inch inner diamter tube
with motorized rotary valve system and a high energy arc discharge
ignition system. The tests were conducted with propane and oxygen
mixtures. |
